What to Expect
The garden sits tucked into the hillside above Oriental Bay, a small, steep, slightly unreasonable place to grow flowers, and the reason everything here is grown in smaller numbers than a flat paddock would allow.
What we Grow
We grow the varieties that reward that kind of attention: dahlias that bruise if you look at them wrong, ranunculus that need coaxing through a Wellington winter, sweet peas that want staking twice a week. It's not the fastest way to fill a bucket, but it's the way that gets you a bloom you won't find held under fluorescent light in a supermarket cooler.
When our Beds aren’t enough
Some weeks, a big event, the run-up to Mother's Day, our own garden can't cover what's needed. In those weeks we go to New Zealand growers, sourced through the local flower auction.
